The pageview rate was steady and calm as if nothing was happening. But it was happening:

Despite my low activity (or more exactly my poor ability to draw more), I managed to prepare a picture to celebrate this event, or, better to say, to express my gratitude to all my nice friends, watchers, visitors to my gallery and all good people around!
As everyone can see, I still love the "quicksand" theme. So, no worries! Though I do see the sad truth that this is the first my quicksand-themed picture in this year, and only two (with one more like a sketch) were submitted during all 2015. So, let's believe it is
One word about the war
If I don't post anything about the war, it doesn't mean I don't care. I just don't take this site seriously enough to talk about such serious things. To me, this is a place to relax.

Христос ся рождає! Славімо його! To those who can't read the above greeting: some of you may be surprised but we celebrate Christmas this night. Unlike the New Year Eve (that we consider the main season's holiday), Christmas is mostly a religious holiday. And our orthodox church still believes in Julian calendar, no matter how anti-scientific it is. When most of the people already celebrate Christmas we can barely have a minute of rest, because the end of year is traditionally the hardest time at work, with all those annual reports and rush completion of certain tasks. We only start the vacations on the 1st of January (in more lucky cases - on the 31st of December). However, the whole holiday season begins on St.Nickolas day (the 19th of December in Julian calendar) and ends after the Epiphany (the 19th of January in Julian calendar). There are several remarkable holidays during this period, each with its unique attributes.
An important milestone reached
I have not posted any journals for a long time here, but now I have something to share. My little animated GIF got the 500th fav yesterday! This is my 'most favorited' work. It took me several months to make it, and it took it almost 11 years to collect 500 favs. I am absolutely happy!
My experience with DA Eclipse banners
AN IMPORTANT UPDATE! Those $@%@$^%^#!! Eclipse developers changed it, so now I have to remake the banner, and the following has only a historical value. Damn those @$%@$%@$@!$ morons! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DA Eclipse banners are tricky. Any doubts? Well, look at these two screenshots. The first is what you see when you just open or refresh a page showing the banner: You may suppose that you should make a wide and relatively low image, with a width to height ratio of about 3. Don't even try it! DA would cut substantial parts of the image on its left and right sides! A somewhat sobering insight comes from the second screenshot: Yes, it seems unexpected but DA Eclipse positions the page not at its top by default. You can scroll it to see some hidden parts of the banner! And not only the upper part of the image becomes visible - the image itself rises a bit over the menu bar! Tricky, yes? I could not find

Thank you for alertification! Congratulations on your inconceivably huge numbers on your internet zone. I personally love numbers (especially LARGE ones -- and many round curvy zeroes) and hope everybody gets obscenely huge numbers!
