Taking a Nap

Description

One of the first drawings from professor Schöneberg's diary that was published in his blog (subsequently colored by professor's assistant Taras Chabanyuk). No doubt, the drawing drew attention, and the blog instantly became exceptionally popular. Below is the author's comment from the blog:

A girl from our village calmly takes a nap on a thick branch.

During a long day (in Summer the daytime is almost 30 hours long!) elves normally take a nap in the afternoon. If they are out of the village, they have to be careful when choosing the place. Some of dangerous plants attack sleeping elves. More often this happens in the night, but can happen in the daytime, too.

It's hard to tell where sleeping is less dangerous - on the ground or on the trees. It depends on which plants are more common in local area. According to what the girls of our village told me, they more often run into troubles when they are wandering to distant villages, and less often - when they are near their own village.

According to the agreement between all the stakeholders, professor Claus Dietrich von Schöneberg had to instantly provide information about everything that was important for activities of both companies exploring the planet - MellaPharm and XploreMin. To fulfill this condition, von Schöneberg started a blog that was visible to everybody on the planet and to selected representative boards from the Supreme Council and scientific community.

The professor readily shared information about everything that was potentially dangerous and harmful for people on the planet. Taking into account that the methodology of professor Schöneberg assumed realistic presentation of the events, and he supported traditional, and even archaic media, his blog very soon was filled with scans of his own pencil sketches of naked damsels in all kinds of perils. Technically everything was within normal limits, but connoisseurs of damsel-in-distress genre gladly claimed that the old man is "into it".

Besides the perils, the professor shared a lot of information about the language of the elves and details of their life that were invisible for the cameras installed around the villages. Schöneberg signed each his posting with his digital signature containing a timestamp, so that his scientific priority wouldn't be arguable. Of course, he shared only a part of data that he collected. He preferred (and was authorized) to privately collect and process the information about origin of the elves and their history, based on their folklore.
